True.. but a good novel also reveals a lot about the author.
hmm..I beg to differ. Either ways, a book is subject to interpretation by the reader! And I think a book - good or bad- tells you the truth about you!

a good book is the book i finish reading/planning t od oso...a bad one is one which i chuck after the first few pages :)

i feel the quote is partially true.. a good novel does tell a lot about the hero... but bad ones are probably just bad cos we dint like em, or they werent written well...
i pick up a book, read if i like it, else chuck it.. simple logic :)
but when i pick up books of a particular author, it is reflection of their genre or writing style...
