I'm at my 250th post..How abt that!! Ha!!

ok, now to a "my kinda" post!! 

Last evening while chatting with a friend with whom i share my name [except hers is a diff spelling], we got around to talking about random things, one of which was about our Bloggers meet that happened yesterday [Saturday]- we a bunch of bloggers who've connected and meet up every once in a while!!! Anyways, about that in another post...

This post is about why i and all of us blog... here is a snippet from the conversation we had last nite!! :)

• Some to vent [get it off their chest kinda venting, rant n rave!! :)]
  
• Some to share [keep in touch with people across the globe, friends and others!! sometimes toot toot, sometimes just to keep them posted!! ]
• Some to make some $$ outta it [ tho am yet to figure out how that works!! now dont reccomend Adsense, those are just plain annoying!! ]
• and Some for Fun [i said that before? no worries, it can never be said enuf!! ;)] 

I started blogging couple of yrs ago

... Blog lay docile, and then it woke up and has been causing quite a rampage i see , or rather hear [ from those sweet voices inside my head ofcourse!!:)]

Today, i am the proud owner of not just one , but yes 4blogs...!!

How and Why 4 you ask?!!- 

1. For creative writing - Which is where i discovered i too could write!! my 1st ever blog

2. For reviews- Books,music, movies, shows,etc - I used to write on Mouthshut, but then decided to move all to my blog and write here instead!!

3. For travelogues and adventures [ newest baby on the block]- Had mixed up travel, life and everything in my other blog[ref no.4] , but now realised i need one excl for travel...

4. For general writing [this very bloggy]

1st Caller- a lady : Is it EGMORE??? [Duh... how did she get so smart i wondered,said she has lived in Chennai all her life.... nearly threw up in the car,. stopped myself just in time!!! ]

2nd Caller: a guy- LIC? [ Oh me gawd.. somebody give me some rope or poison, i wanna die right here, was my reaction!!! ]

3rd caller- a guy : Hmmm, theriyadu madam - "i dont know ma'am"

The RJ: it is the road where LIC is sir, do you know the name now?

3rd caller: Oh,antha roadla thaan naan irukein madam, aana innoru peru theriyada -"Am on that road only, but i dont know the other name"

Dont push it

When we come across an idea or a thought, we have this urge to share with others.. but there are times, when we need to hold our tongue and not unleash it and let it run amock...

We need to assess the situation of the other person, spend a minute thinking about "Do they want to hear this? is it of any use to them?" and share!! But i've come across people = friends and strangers who JUST dont think, they shoot their mouth like it was a rocket and then just wont listen to our reasoning or side of the story....

They keep harping on what they feel is right, 

how they think we need to listen to them and 

just blinding following them...

But i am the kind of person wjho will run the other direction if you push too much.... It could be anything from trying a food item, to attending a course!!

I firmly believe i will give it a try IF i feel like it and if it seems interesting to me.. NO matter how much you talk/sell/market it NOTHING will happen!!!

• i do understand they have good intentions in mind
• I do agree they mean well 
• But why wont they understand i dont want to hear it from them or that am not intersted in what they are saying!! dont they get the message??? 

Sometimes i balantly tell them NO, Thank you

other times am trying hard to change the subject!

But NOPE, no effect.. its like they have made up their mind to keep going till i crumble and say "YES, ORDERS OBEYED!! "  

No way, that just wont happen.. uh huh.... no can do!!  and these are people who've known me not for a month or so, but for years!!!

Why cant some people understand this and let be!! Sheesh.. am i asking for too much?

i won i won....

Yep.. i did!! nothing big.. nothing major!! But heck, i won dint i!!!  What? You ask!! well, TOI [ Times of India for all you non paper reading dumbums..hehe] runs a Tambola [ Also called Lotto, Housie, Bingo-  A ticket comes every sunday with TOI paper and numbers in batches of 5 daily in TOI, all you gotta do is check if your ticket contains any of those numbers and keep scoring them out] every week... and i started playing couple of weeks back.. and last week, WEEK 5 proved to be LUCKY for moi!!  Yipee!!

I hit FULL HOUSE [Got all numbers in my ticket during the week] on saturday, and promptly , well, not really, after a bit of delay, went to the TOI office [ did you know the building is Pink in color.. ok, that in another post...not here!! ] and showed the ticket and brought home a bag bundle of goodies..

It was from BEAUTE BOUTIQUE [ dont ask me who that is, i've never heard of them till now, and dont know where their store is or where their products are retailed!! ]

Anyways,  i got a whole bunch of stuff thanks to them -

a Body wash- Doccia Gel [cant get enuf of body washes..yummm],

Yardley Powder, 

Lavender & Olive Oil Revitalising Mask, and 

a Eveline laboratories Thermal mask[ i know what it is cos i had to look front back and all around this little sachet, cos everything in the front was wwritten in some freakish wierdo language...dont believe me?hmfph, look at the pic]

and a coupon that entitles me ENTRY into the MEGA Tambola that happens on Sundays at Chinmaya Heritage center... yayyy!! here i come!!  wish me luck wont u!! Bah, stop being jealous, and be happy for your friend already!! :D

Mightey pleased, i wandered about tell all and sundry about this..  So, now am all set, excited and looking fwd to SUNDAY!! Woohooooooooo .. may the luck linger on!!!

Vidya, a friend i made through the blogworld is the one who tagged me!! We have met once so far, and the one time it was awesome fun..Spent quite a bit of time together, at coffee shops, waiting for cup of warm water, walking on Elliots beach, eating peanuts and sundal[ mix of peanuts,tomato, onion, puffed rice] at the beach..,exploring Astalakshmi temple, dinner at Giorgios and what not!!! Where is this coming from? well, blame it on the latest rage in town, or rather the world...Swine flu ..Wherever i turn people seem to be talking about it or reading out some news item related to it.

yes, it is sad that there is something that is killing people, especially kids
yes, it is very sad that we can do NOTHING about it, but protect ourselves..

But
Does this mean - we stop living?
Lock ourselves up in our room and say "i am safe", actually, is that even possible?

Friends of mine are so paranoid, they are talking about not stepping out of the house
Not going out to eat, watch a movie or play...
They are hunting for face masks, which seem to be in short supply

Not only this, but they are all working HARD at messing with others as well.. Freak out as many as possible!!
Couple of them tried that with me, but realised it aint working!!! I mean, whats the point of getting worked up and worrying?

Say, i relent and decide to stay cooped up at home...
What are the guarantees that i wont fall ill?
What if my maid brings the bug?
or it comes floating in through the air into my room/house?

Yes, i agree we need to be cautious, but we need to also understand that there are certain things beyond our control..

If one has to fall ill and die, so be it!!! thats FATE and Destiny!! dont try beating it...

My BIGGEST argument is - ENJOY life today, do not worry about tomorrow... you could be around or be gone!!! Whats the point worrying that you dont enjoy your today!!!!????
