Wash it off..

I dint believe it when i read this in today's paper!! Hand washing day- really? What next? Brush your teeth day? Sigh...

The thoughts that were running through my head on reading this was,-
1. Are they trying to stress the importance of personal hygeine?
2. Are they promoting the message that one needs to wash their hands often?
3. Is it directed at all those who go to the loo but dont wash their hands?
4. Is it a marketing gimmick to promote all the bazillion kinds of hand-washes available in the market?

Wash your hands
After you eat
Wash your hands
After you play with your dog, cat, or other pets
Wash your hands
After you return from a shopping spree
Wash your hands
Right after touching green chillies
Wash your hands
When you are done in the loo
Wash your hands
if you clean your room, cupboard, shelf, etc
Wash your hands
Wash
Wash
Wash your hands.....
What next i wonder.....

The only way you will be excused from washing your hands would be....

Back it up

You work on the computer... You save on the computer....

You work on the computer... you save on a Floppy disk

You work on the computer... you save on CD

You work on the computer... you save on a Pen drive

You work on the computer...   you save on an external Hard drive

You work on the computer...you save it on Dropbox or other cloud

What next???? do we save it in thin air? does it go vapourise into space?

We need a back up of the back up of the back up of the........... phew, am tired!! What was i talking about?

Sheesh.... everyday... every minute spent in the fear that the computer might crash, power might conk... data will get lost...

Somebody find something that will save things into the invisible space and one that we can retrieve at the blink of an eye... The file could be named Tom&jerry or Whostolethecookiefromthecookiejar or Naakamuka, but the file should be available with whatever we conjure up in our head  or even if nothing comes, the file should be found!! :D

Remembering Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs is no more...

The Apple chairman and former CEO who made personal computers, smartphones, tablets, and digital animation mass-market products passed away today.

There are very few people who's death moved me.. and  the news of Steve's death totally shocked me.. I woke up to the news and must say i feel like someone i knew, was close to passed away....  Here is an absolutely amazing speech that Steve gave at Stanford...

Bookmarks handmade...

So, i was headed out to lunch with 2 Blogger gal pals- Uma and Pallavi [who was visiting from UK].. I decided a few minutes before leaving home to take them something... And true to my new found interest, i made them each a funky Origami Bookmark :-)

It was wonderful watching the surprise and grin on their faces.. Infact, Uma instantly asked if i had a white marker pen so i could sign on them... :-)

Origami

The web defines it as

Origami, the word originates from "ori" meaning "folding", and "kami" meaning "paper"; kami. It is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, which started in the 17th century AD at the latest and was popularized outside Japan in the mid-1900s.
On a lazy evening when i was out at Subway for the F4 meet, i observed Subash working his way through a sheet of paper to create a camera and that was it.. within minutes,i was seated across from him and trying to mimic his moves with the restaurant menu sheet... And thus began my Origami Journey.... I dont do it as regularly as i would like, but there are times when i get drawn into this art form, and spend hours and minutes working on a form...

Few weeks ago, i created a few flowers along with mom for a friend.. She sent them to her son's school for a class on Flowers.. :) And past few days i've once again managed to create a couple of pieces... The all time favorite of mine is ofcourse the Butterfly.... :-)

Here is what i have managed to fold...
