When i think of Sun, i instantly start playing Baz Luhrmann’s Sunscreen’s song out loud..

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh never mind;
you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….

I remember when i was small [well, right upto 14-15yrs of age or so] , we used to be out pretty much all the time.
Out playing with friends
out running around driving our parents crazy
Out talking to our friends across the compound wall
Out screaming our heads out as we run, play Hide n seek.
No sunscreen
No stoles or scarfs covering our faces
and
No fancy creams…
But today,
We dread stepping out
We hate going out in the sun
and we
complain
crib
and whine about how hot it is..
Well,
let me tell you something.., I live in Chennai, where the year goes
through Hot– Hotter- Hottest- Hot.. and well, you get the picture
right?
How i wish i was like Kyra, who stays cool, can go out and waltz in the sun
she looks like she cares not for the heat
she beats the heat
and
taps her feet…

How i wish i was with Kyra
watching her rock the world
with an attitude to die for…
Hmm.. looks like i have a few lessons to learn
from Kyra…
 For, she is
Strong and suave
Chic and smart
cool and chilled out
dancing to the beats….
All i need is the new Lakme Sun Expert
Watch my skin glow
instead of tan
against the beating sun!!
off i go waltzing out
singing with Baz .
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
it’s worth. But trust me on the sunscreen…
