Last evening we had some delectable pizzas whipped out by Executive Chef Deva Kumar at Hyatt Regency as part of their “Hand-rolled Primo Pizza” fest that is on till 9th Feb [for Lunch & Dinner at Focaccia]

Having heard and read about the pizza culture in Italy, this dinner was a treat for all our senses. Each pizza was different – from the unique selection of crusts, fun toppings, and flavours. Over the years we have had pizzas with different kinds of bases and options for toppings. I have grown to love the thin crust and so it was a treat to see the pizzas served up here were all thin crust and packed with flavour.

The vegetarian pizzas I got to try [in order of how much I loved em],

1. Truffle Funghi – Mushrooms with truffle cream and truffle carpaccio along with tomatoes and mozzarella.

2. Braccio di ferro [calzone] – Closed pizza with spinach, tomato, ricotta cheese and mozzarella.

3.Quattro Stagioni – A square pizza served on a round platter with four different toppings -tomato, mozzarella, mushrooms, artichoke, bell pepper, and olives. I loved the slice with artichokes on it.

4. Biancaneve – Cream base with fresh mozzarella and smoked mozzarella.. [it had the subtle smoky flavour that was a pleasant surprise]

The highlight of the evening was watching Chef Deva put the pizza together – layering the sauce, the toppings, and then sending it into the oven and watching the cheese bubble away before being drawn out and sliced up.

There is quite a range for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, including one with seafood options. In fact, if you are still not comfortable stepping out of your home, or dining out, you can order these via food delivery apps and enjoy them from wherever you are. They also customize the pizzas.
