It had been two days since I landed in Pune,  we had some errands to run, starting with getting the car serviced. Dropped off the car and decided to go find a place to have breakfast before ticking off other items on our list. P suggested Up South, said their South Indian spread was good. Alas, got there only to see the shutters down. Realized they had switched to a delivery-only model. Next door was CCD, but then we all know how amazing their food is. Spent a few minutes there trying to find an alternative. All this was in Bavdhan area~

When we were getting to Up south, I had spotted a Cafe Peter on the right side, a few 100yards down from Up South.  Looked interesting, and so off we went towards the place. So glad we did, for the place, the ambiance, and the food was amazingggmaxxxx…

Bright red adorn the exterior, while the interior is quite eclectic, with funky murals and installations across the place. The one thing that flowed seamlessly were the colours, red & black~

Comfortable seating, scattered across two rooms meant enough space without overcrowding. We found ourselves a sofa seating in a corner and got settled in. A few minutes later we were at the counter, trying to decide what to have when their Baked omelette platter caught my eye. I went for that, while P ordered their American breakfast, these came with coolers – I chose green apple and he opted for peach.

Spent a few minutes chit-chatting, looking around, observing the others, traffic outside, the decor while our food slowly made its way to the table. And then, for a few minutes, it was silence. We dug in, and couldn’t stop devouring the food.

Two reasons – 1. we were hungry, and 2.in case I havent said it enough, the food is oh so good.

Happy and satisfied, we left the place vowing to come back. Over the next couple of weeks, discovered they had branches across Pune. We spotted one in Shivaji Nagar near Fergusson college. Have also ordered in from their outlet in Wakad- Rice with roasted chicken & Rice with that green curry, and were thrilled with the taste and quality.

Must mention, the portions are huge, can be shared between 2, unless you have a good appetite… The place is good to just hang out, catch up with friends/family, or sit & work or read from. Big open windows, bright colours, and cosy comfortable sofas – what more do you need?

Update- 10th Oct:

We went to their Wakad outlet for breakfast on Friday..We ordered:
1. Hash Brown Omelette – Omelette stuffed with potatoes and cheese, side of hash browns and toast along with a small portion of Baked beans
2. African Omelette – Spicy chicken mixed in with sunny side up eggs and served with a side of hash browns and toast along with a small portion of Baked beans
We also decided to try their Belgian waffle Sandwich brunch – the sandwich was alright, but the waffles though were hot were undercooked & we couldn’t really enjoy them.

We washed down the breakfast with a Strawberry yogurt & Caramel popcorn milkshake. Both were gooood…
